A fantastic success!!
....by the beach, at Churchill Park Rockingham
Blues Alive - Art in the Park Festival 2012
Again, this year was a fantastic, free, family, fun, active community event - that featured live Blues music, heaps of stalls and activities and true Rockingham spirit.
Presented by the WEST COAST BLUES CLUB, this event has continued to grow from strength to strength. This year, we had some great new and established bands and solo artists from all around the Rockingham area and also further south - all the way from Bunbury. Our MC on stage, was the new club president Nick Leach, ably supported at the club marquee by the lovely Donna (our very capable club secretary). Blues Alive Art In The Park festival, now in its 9th year, attracted hundreds of families to the foreshore of Rockingham.
The audience relaxed on the green grass, beneath the shady trees near the ocean, and enjoyed the entertainment, or browsed among the art and craft stalls. Children enjoyed all the activities the festival had to offer, or tickled the taste buds with the international cuisine. This year the Blues Alive - Art in the Park festival once again included a special component, inviting special needs & services and also acknowledged those local State Olympic Swimming champions who brought home medals this year.
The Mandurah Ocean Club took this festival to a new level in 2012 and stretched the activies down to the ocean with a state regatta, inviting all WA Outriggers to enjoy Rockingham's coastline.
If you want to get involved with helping our great team at West Coast Blues Club, just call Donna on 08 9419 5537 or email us at westcoastblues2001@yahoo.com.au. We'd love for you to help us out at the gigs. It's very rewarding and enjoyable. Sometimes we get free tickets to major Blues events too.:)

The West Coast Blues Club burst onto the scene - with its opening night - on 1st August 2001, when an appreciative crowd of around 150 people enjoyed a great night's music south of the river.
The local house band was supplemented with several Perth Blues Club stalwarts, who had made the trip down from the "big smoke" of Perth to give the club a warm welcome on to the "live" Blues Music scene in WA.
The West Coast Blues Club, along with the Perth Blues Club, the Southwest Blues Club and the Albany Blues Club, will continue to provide musicians with a variety of venues. All the clubs mutually help to spread the Blues Music word amongst the West Australian music-loving public.
Musos and punters alike... Get down to the West Coast Blues Club... for great "live" blues entertainment, south of the river... down Rockingham way...
Our new "Live Entertainment" Venue is the Rockingham Hotel, 26 Kent Street Rockingham.
Please email us at westcoastblues2001@yahoo.com.au
Cheers!
