Saturday 17 November is likely to be the best club night of the year.

Next month?..... Dr John and the Midnight Jammers!
Notice of EXTRAORDINARY Annual General Meeting

Dear Members, musicians and friends of WCBC.

We will be holding an EXTRAORDINARY AGM on Saturday 17 November at 6.00pm.

Location is Fremantle Navy Club - 2nd floor

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

On Saturday afternoon 6 October, the Annual General Meeting for the WCBC was held at the Navy Club at 3 pm. Present were Nick (The President and stalwart) and Julie (the Secretary, Treasurer, front door person, hard worker and general all round true believer) plus 5 member/ musicians.

As is normal practice at an AGM, all positions on the committee are declared vacant and applications are called to fill the positions. There were no extra takers to fill the necessary roles to make the club function effectively and to lighten the load for Nick and Julie.

It was therefore decided hold off filling these positions and put out a "call to arms" to all musicians and supporters of the club to come forward and attend the deferred/ extraordinary AGM meeting now to be held on Saturday 17 November at 6pm at the Navy Club 2nd Floor followed by a meal, if you wish.

So, if you want our great club to continue providing a venue for blues musicians and blues appreciators please commit and be there and be prepared to become an official paid-up member and take on a role. :)

It was also made clear at the meeting that for this great club to continue there would need to be some serious decisions made to address the issues of decreasing finances, the need for increased membership and increased numbers attending gigs. Many great ideas and strategies were put forward at the meeting, including the following - which was agreed by all present.

Fund Raising Gig/ Event

To improve the financial position of the club, it was also agreed that the regular future club event on Saturday night 17 November would be restructured as fund-raiser night and a least three established working bands would be approached to offer their services free of charge to play a set each on the night. The entry fee will be $10.

So, please spread the word about the fund-raiser and if you want this great club to continue next year, please attend the next Extraordinary AGM at 6 pm 17 November and be prepared to offer your time and to support Nick and Julie with the great work they have done to date in bringing this club to Fremantle.

Yours sincerely,

Musicians and supporters of the Club

A fantastic success!! the beach, at Churchill Park Rockingham

Blues Alive - Art in the Park Festival 2012

Audience and Club marquee Again, this year was a fantastic, free, family, fun, active community event - that featured live Blues music, heaps of stalls and activities and true Rockingham spirit.

Presented by the WEST COAST BLUES CLUB, this event has continued to grow from strength to strength. This year, we had some great new and established bands and solo artists from all around the Rockingham area and also further south - all the way from Bunbury. Our MC on stage, was the new club president Nick Leach, ably supported at the club marquee by the lovely Donna (our very capable club secretary). Blues Alive Art In The Park festival, now in its 9th year, attracted hundreds of families to the foreshore of Rockingham.

The audience relaxed on the green grass, beneath the shady trees near the ocean, and enjoyed the entertainment, or browsed among the art and craft stalls. Children enjoyed all the activities the festival had to offer, or tickled the taste buds with the international cuisine. This year the Blues Alive - Art in the Park festival once again included a special component, inviting special needs & services and also acknowledged those local State Olympic Swimming champions who brought home medals this year.

The Mandurah Ocean Club took this festival to a new level in 2012 and stretched the activies down to the ocean with a state regatta, inviting all WA Outriggers to enjoy Rockingham's coastline.

If you want to get involved with helping our great team at West Coast Blues Club, just email us at We'd love for you to help us out at the gigs. It's very rewarding and enjoyable. Sometimes we get free tickets to major Blues events too.:)

The West Coast Blues Club burst onto the scene - with its opening night - on 1st August 2001, when an appreciative crowd of around 150 people enjoyed a great night's music south of the river.

The local house band was supplemented with several Perth Blues Club stalwarts, who had made the trip down from the "big smoke" of Perth to give the club a warm welcome on to the "live" Blues Music scene in WA.

The West Coast Blues Club, along with the Perth Blues Club, the Southwest Blues Club and the Albany Blues Club, will continue to provide musicians with a variety of venues. All the clubs mutually help to spread the Blues Music word amongst the West Australian music-loving public.

Musos and punters alike... Get down to the West Coast Blues Club... for great "live" blues entertainment, on the west coast... over Fremantle way...

Our new "Live Entertainment" Venue since June 2016, is the Navy Club, 64 High Street (corner of Pakenham Street), Fremantle 6160.
